Roof bars for a series three

I've been searching the internet for roof bars/brackets that would suit a series three 109 with a tropical roof. I'm not after anything fancy, just something functional to attach an awning and other things to them. The internet doesn't seem to show gutter mounted brackets that would extend over the tropical roof. Does anyone have any suggestions where I can purchase suitable roof bars that are not an exuberant price. Even second hand ones would be suitable.
    Many thanks

    Exuberant or exorbitant price?

What about the legs from a Disco 1 system? They are quite long to clear the high roof.

I think they are 280mm high. Someone on here may ahve a set for say in the Markets. It's worth a look. (I may have a set, I'll have a look.)

Ron beat me to it. A D1 or 2 rack might work. They have long legs to accomodate the hump.

Yes I have used D2 long legs on a series roof before. I can't remember if I used a 10mm spacer to clear the ribs in the roof. How high above the ribs does the tropical roof sit?

Tropical roof, at least all the ones I've seen, sit on the ribs. So perhaps a millimetre.

Dobby, one of the few photos I have with the D2 legs and cross bars on my old stage 1. The bars sat well clear of the roof ribs.

    Thanks Chris,
I've started looking down the line in regards to utilising roof bars for a Discovery 2 as suggested by you and others and have come across some from Bossco that may be suitable. $219 for three bars, which seems quite reasonable.
Nice looking truck by the way.

    Cheers.
Whilst the 4.4l v8 in it was fun, it was collateral damage when I built my FC. Diesel clatter but much more economical and usable!

I ended up getting the roof bars from Bossco which seemed to fit alright. The only issue was the tropical roof. It was not the height but where the tropical roof came down the sides of the truck. This meant that the brackets for the bars rubbed against the roof and wouldn't fit squarely as they should have. I mucked around with it a bit and rather than trimming the side of the roof where the brackets rubbed, I had the bars bolted down but not quite square. I'm only intending to put an awning and some PVC pipe for my fishing rods on them so the overall weight will be minimal. For any other series three without a tropical roof I don't think there would be a problem.
