    Diesel engine mount

Does anyone know if the RHS engine mount should still use the steel adaptor plate onto the chassis I have a 1977 parts book that says it is used but my 1981 chassis doesn't seem to fit that part properly. It was used on the petrol models as well????? did they do away with that part on the late 2.25 diesels

G'day All, My Series 3 ( 1981 109" late model) 5 main bearing engine had it fitted to the rhs engine mount, I think that if it didn't have it the mount would disintergrate quickly, cheers Dennis

mmm this gets more interesting I have tried to fit the bracket but it fouls the corner of the battery holder leg and is half a hole out maybe they changed the bracket on later models does anyone have a part number? the number I have is 272506 for both petrol and diesel. it looks like there has never been a bracket fitted

Ok from what I have found out the bracket needs to be fitted as you can see I had to cut a section away to get it to fit. doesn't seem right though
