The Game was a Series 3 swb hardtop, with a special paint scheme, wide wheels (and mudguard extensions), and a number of other extras. An Australian special, and an attempt by JRA (within the limits of what was feasible) to stem the flow of Jap imports by dressing up the S3 as a recreational vehicle.

They were only sold for a couple of years, and because of this, good examples are probably as rare as almost any other model of Series Landrover. There was a thread here about them a year or so ago, and a search should find it.

I have got one if you want to know anything specific. As JDNSW said, basically a S III SWB hardtop with a few extras which also included Bull Bar, Interior Lining, Free Wheel Hubs, Tropical Roof. That's probably about it. Sold from around 1976 -1978 I think. (mine is a 78 model)

    Cheers, Mick.

1977 LAND ROVER GAME SWB (VERY RARE) - eBay Range Rover, Land Rover, Range Rover, Cars, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 10-Feb-08 20:37:10 AEDST)

shame about the toymotor parts on it though

hmm..... What do people think about this Game? It's a pitty about the engine as it wouldn't be my choice but..... that can be changed.

would it be a mistake considering this one? What is a top reasonable price to pay?

Being sold without rego or roadworthy - and probably without engineering approval, which is likely to be a can of worms even if everything has been well done. On the other hand perhaps the Game is perhaps rare enough to be worth restoring it. In this case you are looking at a lot of work and a lot of money to replace the original bits, so I would not pay a lot for it, certainly less than $1000, although you may be able to sell the Toyota bits and add a little to the price.
