    Ford oil filter placement.

Had good look around engine bay today while the guard was off and found that the oil filter was hard up against the chassey. Buggerd If I know how I'm ment to change it without removing the engine, guess the guys who put it in did not care about those kind of things.

Anyway is there any way that I can relocate the oil filter ie a remote filter set up or some other set up to change the angle of the filter so its up and down instead of poking out the side? It's a 250 x flow.

It also has some sort of cooler thing in front of the radiator I'm taking a wild guess that its not the AC condensor any guesses? mine is maybe for oil cooler for an old Leyland 6?

    Hi mate.
You need a Cortina filter or even a Puegot one fits, same thread as the Z9 just shorter.Consult a Ryco cattledog, some have cross-referencing to say wich is the same thead/lengths etc.
I had to fit a remote oil filter in my Ser3 I converted to 302 Cleveland.Got the kit from a speed shop, also available EX Ebay.I also found later that the remote oil filter setup fited to the old slant 6 Valiant motors is a direct fit to the falcoon 6/V8 so if you know of any wrecks have a look.
    Goodluck

Sounds right, apparently the Ryco Puegot is a better fit (shorter)but costs a bit more, only know as my Bro has the same conversion.

The val slant 6 filter setup is the go in these conversions, can be had for nothing usualy if you can find an old wreck, still runs the Z9.
