Camino Gold. I don't know the number though.
Cheers, Mick.
My SIII wagon needs a touch up and I am hoping someone may know the paint number (and name ?) for that yucky yellow the 109 wagons were finished in (the colour grows on you after a while).
Your assistance would be appreciated.

Just get it matched. It will have faded over the years so painting with the original mix will stand out like a wart on a lemon.

Thanks Mick and Alan.
Did I say touch up? Well, er..actually...um....arr...the old girl was born in 76 and could do with a complete make over!![]()

Ahem, but some of us born before 1976 don't need make overs, and you should just hope Mrs Ho-Har, NM, Diana,... aren't watching
On the other hand, have you noticed that the more they smoke the more wrinkled the skin gets, even if it's alunimium?
As for the colour, I'm not certain you will be able to match it accurately any more. Even though you may have the name, it's what the ingredients are that count and from my experience there are very few paint specialists who have anything older than a few years in their catalogues. Aside from that they just mix to match with the latest chemical additives - realising the old paints used different compounds.
Instead, is there anything you can safely remove that has the original colour on it? Some grubby piece down the engine is often a good place to look where the oil has had it protected for the past 28 years. Or under the floor panels??

Camino Gold is correct for 109", Wildlife Green for 88", wheels are Limestone.

Thank you Brian for the info on the 109 and 88 colours.
Alan you are so right, I was born long before 76 and I do'nt need a makeover either (Liar, Liar, pants on fire!) .
I have been told that a number of VW's from the 60's and 70's were finished in a similar colour brownish yellow. So, if all else fails I may commit the ultimate sacrilege and spray the old girl in V dub colours which is very close to the original (from memory of my friends Kombi)

I had a 62 Veedub bug painted in that colour, at least I think it's the same one you mean - kind of mustardy
Alan
Actually, just looked around for examples. The VW colour is browner, or less yellow.

You would'nt believe it!
While sorting through some of my fathers belongings I opened his LR manual and there in front of me was hand written:
Colour: Camino Gold Shade number: 12137 Paint type: Dulon Acran Duco.
Sometimes the answer is right there in front of you.![]()
Camino gold would be the right colour for that year, they changed to bahama gold for the later series 3. Bahama gold is darker
