    Front mats for a stage1

    I am wondering if anyone can tell me where I can get floor mats or carpet for a series 3 stage 1 ute also what have other people used for sound deadener eg rubberised paint ,tar ,or accoustic matting and how successful was it .I
    have defender doors is it hard to fit remote locking on them.

    Hi Pete, we just cut up a thick rubber sheet to size. Ours is the diesel model and any sound insulation from it was negligible. Ours also leaks worse than a seive, so have never put carpet in.
    On our ute, we glued some carpet tiles to the roof, and this did reduce some of the drumming noise.
    I have a mag. article somewhere that shows how to fit central locking to older style 110 doors. If you're interested I could probably locate it for you.
