I have just bought a LR Game thought I might start a thread as it does need some work to get it on the road again. Mind you it does not look to bad but there are some bits that need attention. I am just hoping this does not end up another project in bits scattered around the shed. Heres a picture of it.
This is the firewall it is not the best feature and I suppose its going to have to come out at some time the previous owner had glassed up the footwells while he has done a good job it what lurks beneath that is a concern.

1978 Land Rover Game series 3 - eBay, Passenger Vehicles, Cars, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 12-Jul-09 12:33:48 AEST)
Very nice, just noticed yours dont have the rear fender thingys, and the one I bought dont have the front thingys. Want to sell them ??? Ha! Ha!![]()
NOWhat rear thingys do you mean, I know very little about the GAMES apart from they were suppose to be all yellow. Did they do them in green as well. Yours, was it the one on Ebay I remember looking at it and relising that its origins were distinctly GAME. Nice buy lets start a GAME forum how many of them were originally built, how many on the forum?? Does any one know???
What about a show us you Game if your game thread
Kindest regards
Garry
Crispy
are you chasing the fenders might have a lead for you drop us a PM, nice little handy size SWB trailer you have there and its yellow.
Garry
Well I got mine a couple of weeks ago. I thought they were all yellow but saw the photo of yours Crispy and thought it looked like a Game, just the wrong colour. Things like the sliding rear windows and the little corner protectors at the back I thought made it look like one. However all the bits on a Game were available as options so unless it has the Game tag on the ID plate it may not be one.
Here are a couple of pictures of mine -
The bullbars are not the right colour but it is all original. Hardly any rust but a bit of tidying up needed.

Hi yes that is the one do you know anything about it?? Hey Timj could you do us a favour and take a happy snap of the attactment setup for the rear bumperettes please. Mine looks to have had a new rear crossmember and the way it is fixed just does not seem right. Would appriciate it heaps. Yours looks much like mine rubber mats and trim the same. It came with 2 sets of seats. It has a set of county buckets including the middle seatfitted and the original seats were floating around in the back. Not sure what to do with that situation the county seats are good and give a bit more comfort.
The roo bar is different, were there different ones available?? Yours is looking really nice, Love the 11R x15 tyres on mine is that the size they had off the show room floor, they are soooo fat. Is the firewall galvanised on yours or silver, is the firewall silver/gal in the engine bay, what was the original finish in the engine bay. My chassis number is 903342420A does this seem right??
Kindest regards
Garry
Hi Garry,
The bullbar looks the same in those e-bay photos. Mine has been painted a bronzy sort of colour at some stage but they were silver standard. I've got the original owners handbook with mine and according to that the original tyres were 10L x 15 T/L Desert Dog P.C.V.
I will take some photos of the bumperettes tomorrow if I can.
Actually looking at Crispy's again I have not seen those windows in the roof on any of the Games I have seen photos of so I am not sure about that one. The last photo on the e-bay ad for yours has the plate in front of the radiator that says it is a game. I have a copy of the original sales brochure for them as well and that shows a tropical roof but no windows. Mine doesn't have the tropical roof but that was not on all of them I believe.
I have been painting the wheels on mine and getting it all tuned up and ready for a club 4wd trip on Sunday so it should be interesting to see how it goes. It will be very different from the D3 I think.
