So both vehicles are stage 1s with LT95 boxes?
You just need to swap the engine, bellhousing, engine mounts, fuel lines, and a few minor bits.
Apart from engine and box, what else would I have to swap to get my 83series Isuzu engine into a 79 V8. The 79 already has a defender/county, longer bonnet?

That is of course if you can find the Isuzu bell housing. (Asuming that you only have an 83 engine not a donor Stage 1 and the '79 is not a regular SIII with a Holden/Ford V8) Secondly, doesn't the Isuzu require a full flow fuel system with a return line to the fuel tank, so there may not be a return line port into the tank.
The Isuzu D is also a heavier engine so you may want to consider adding power steering and making sure the front springs are correct.
You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
I have a full 83, but it's stuck in second(not sure why yet, just got it), and I'm looking at a 79 with a gal chassis.
Ideally though, I'd rather get an 85 County(coil springs) to put the donk in.
You would be better off galvanising the 83 model. If you buy a galvanised V8 chassis you will need to cut the engine mounts off the chassis, grind the gal back and weld on new mounts, which will defeat the purpose of the original galvanising.
V8 countys are cheap...
Or you could get a Tdi/Td5 with a blown engine... Though there may be some issues with ADRs
LT95 boxes can be $$$ to repair.
