    S3 HELP! :-)

    Gday All,
So I was cleaning the shed on the weekend and I found this series three that i thought I had but couldn't remember where I left... :-)

So today, while I should have been doing uni work, I heading down to the shed to procrastinate. Change the headlight over for some H4 Suzuki jobs, plug and play, very nice, just had to drill a few different mounting holes and replaced all bulbs. Resprayed light surrounds and removed master brake and clutch cylinders for replacement.

Then this is where the fun begins. Into the cabin to try and figure out how to reassemble the dash that I pulled apart some 12 months ago. Tidied up all wiring and checked all was working. Now this is where I have a few questions... Keep in mind its a 1977 S3 SWB 2.25 Petrol
    1. Are the park lights meant to stay on when the headlights are on?
    2. Are there provisions for hazard lights? If no, are they needed in this day? Where is the switch?
    3. Which switch are the windscreen wipers connected to? Are they variable speed? I have found the power wire, however there are two other wires coming from it im not sure what these do...
    4. Anyone have pics of a complete dash? I forget how mine is meant to go back together... :-)
    5. Basic Wiring diagram anyone?

I think thats all for now, as always your help is appreciated. No doubt ill have more questions in the coming days as I continue to procrastinate... :-)

    Cheers, Josh

There's a wiring diagram here. It's a military model, so it might not be exact, but it's a pretty good way to get started. I've got the wiring diagrams for the Series III in my workshop manuals but the book is so thick I can't fit it in my scanner I'd scan you a copy otherwise. If you need anything specific looked up I can try and help out.

I can get a photo of my dash for you in the next few days. Unfortunetely my SIII isn't at my house this week so I can't just rush out and do it.

    Good luck.

    Thanks All,
Guess ill stop trying to get some hazards to work then...
And looks like ill just go with a single speed wipers as rotary switch is seized...

Dave, I couldn't find your post, got a link?

Subasurf, Pictures would be great when you get the chance. Otherwise what is the push button switch on the right hand side next to the large gauge???

Anyone... Any reason as to why my parkers switch off when I go the next click to the headlights?

    Cheers, Josh

I don't know of any push button switches on the dash. There is a red light that kind of looks like a button, but no button.
Also, here's a highres pic of a SIII dash that might be helpful. Not my pic, but it's pretty much the same as what I'd have to offer.
Which button where you wondering about?

    Cheers for that mate...
Blanked out hole bottom right underneath fuel gauge is a push button switch on mine....
Also what do the two middle toggle switches do on yours? (Not headlight toggle) Mine have no wires too them and seem to be unnecessary???

    The plot thickens... :-)

Can you get us a picture of your one Josh? It might be easier if we see what you've got.
    re: the photo above:
The toggle switch on the top right is for lights. The switch to the left of it is the panel light switch and the one below it it activates the heater.
