Thanks for that Iro11, I'll check them out (When I get some time)
The dismantling of Aurora is going slowly. Keep having problems with some bolts here and there, which is slowing things down. (Which I expect is normal for a Vehicle of this age)..
I've taken some more photos of the slow progress.. This will give others an idea of the original condition, and how it will look when it goes back together..
The front dumb irons, are in VERY good condition, so I don't have to do anything with them, other than clean them up.. Bulkhead has been stripped down, so only a few things to remove, before I can remove it from Aurora, so I can fix it.. I do have 2 x 4 day long weekends to do that. So hopefully after Xmas and/or New Year, I can put up some photos of the stuff that has been done, in that time..
I still need to get some paint, and stuff. (Which hopefully I can get before this week is out)
I still have a lot of parts to get, but I will get them when I need them (Or see them if they are available)

Done some more on Aurora. Dismantled the heater unit and paint stripped it ready for POR15 preparation. As well as the carburettor elbow.. Photo left, heater unit before being stripped down. Middle and right photo, heater unit all stripped down, and carburettor elbow, plus heater unit stripped of paint ready for POR15 prep.
I will paint them with POR15 rust inhibitor, both inside and out... They shouldn't rust ever again..

The parts are finally coming together... So far they are only painted with one coat of POR15, second coat to go on soon. (1 hour or so).. But so far they are looking great..
I now have all the procedures tweaked so the rest of the stuff to be done with be heaps quicker. (Bar the paint, as it takes 3 days to harden.)
Here are some more pics..

Gee just what I needed Wolfman_TWP....
I gotta find an Oil Bath style Air Cleaner and cross pipe to complete my restoration.. I haven't searched in the regular places yet but I'll get there...soon. hehe
Thanks for the inspirational photographs.... Phil
If your running an original Rover engine (Like in mine - Petrol) then it's only a very long rubber hose that you will need, a cross pipe won't be necessary ... One end goes into the oil filter, and the other end into the right angled section to the carby, that's it... (Which is shown in the lower section of one of the photos above)

Well, have done a little more on Aurora. I've put the other items away, ready for reassembly when the time comes.. I have some more that has been done. I've paint stripped the radiator support. (Yes, this isn't the original from Aurora, that one has been found to have splits in it, and I'll need to weld up some holes etc..) It's surprising how much rust one finds under the paint... As shown in the following photos..

Does anyone know if the wiring harness should have a clip on this spot
Great progress Wolfman,
I hadn't heard of POR15 but read your post and went and googled their site. Sounds like good stuff - perhaps a little expen$ive.![]()
S'pose it's worth it if it stops the rust.
Yes, that stuff is a little expensive, but well worth it. At least I won't have to worry about the LR rusting on me. And I can concentrate on driving it, and not worry about forgetting to hose it down all the time etc..
And that stuff is supposed to stop rust permanently. (The shop I bought the POR15 from, had a steel bar that was painted with it.. And he said he had it sitting out the front for 10 years. And I could not see any rust on it what so ever) A one litre can does 10sqm. So I should be able to do most of it with one or two litres.. (Will soon see
)
