Not seemingly shown is the bracket in the back corner of the of the door-jam.

Also on the late SIII 109 and Stage 1 the inertia reel was mounted below the gal capping of the seat transom where there was a doubling aluminium panel welded to the back side. You could use the usual steel reinforcing plate in the same place.

Bolt size for seat belts is 7/16" UNF. This has been the Australian (and possibly international standard) for more than forty years, and should be the same on all cars, although there may be some which concessionally are allowed a different one. It is unlikely to change.

Yep JDNSW is spot on. I bought new generic ones recently and the bolt size was the same as the original, 7/16" UNF.

I got them online from www.hemco.com.au

Mine were all lap belts at $55 each (my Landy is a soft top)

The 7/16" bolt size - that is the diameter of the threaded part, not the head - correct?

I managed to salvage one of the bolts used to hold the old belts in with and it was not metric, imperial or even whitworth, or BS come to think about it. The closest I got was a 19mm socket - but that eventually rounded it off and had to get it out with a punch and hammer.

I'm pretty sure high tensile bolts are a big no-no. Apparently it's better for the steel to stretch a little in the event of an impact as opposed to snapping under great force.

They may be, but I doubt there is any practical problem - the strength of the bolt exceeds the strength of the seat belt by a very large margin regardless as to whether the bolt is high tensile or mild steel. In other words it is (deliberately) way oversize for what it is doing.

Fair call. I'd give the insurer a buzz just in case though. They don't need much to wriggle out of paying.
