    Camino Gold or Bahama Gold?

    Gurus,

I had been told that my S3 is Camino Gold but searching around here I am starting to think it is Bahama Gold. It is a 1978 model. Land Rover supposedly changed to Bahama in 1978.

I know photos can change things a bit but this is pretty close to how it looks:

I can't find any mention of the colour on any of the compliance plates. Where should I be looking?

I had a look at lro11's lovely ute and it looks a bit darker yet some look quite a bit lighter than mine.

    Thanks

    Thats Bahama Gold

Should be a Dulux paint sticker somewhere around the radiator shroud or the firewall.

    Thanks Dobbo,
No sign of a Dulux label - it has had firewall repairs, so must have been removed sometime.

Iro11's LR is done in Bahama Gold, and I'll be doing mine with it as well.

Like you said, it's hard to tell, the colour from the photos. Some were dark and others light..

Yes, complete novice, I didn't realise there were 2 baby poo yellows that Land Rover used until having a close look at your thread and lro11's.
The Camino looks quite a bit lighter but harder to tell as often the colour has faded over 30 years or the photo is a bit washed out.
Googling around it appears these colours were also used on Jags, Minis and MGB's of similar era.

Better known as Dulux Gold around the traps.

1970s was the last era of local assembly from CKD kits. MGBs ceased in 1972. Jag XJ6s & I think for a while Rover P6Bs were assembled in New Zealand. So Dulux Gold was on all these.

I can't comment on early Rangies that had this or a similar colour, being imported. Perhaps Dulux had an oversupply problem & the stuff ended up every where!
