My old 74 model 2.25 p has finally layed downNot worn out but lost her coolant into the sump and got driven till the driver smelt the oil burning.
. I drained the sump and filled her with new oil and starts fine with no miss or fumes. I suspect the plugs/dowels in the head may have let go. Its also been jumping out of second gear on overrun so may have to pull the gear box out again
I've not had a lot of luck with the series 111 gearboxes over the years here
I'd like to find a 200 tdi and late 11a 109 box in the ideal world.
Either way I may give up on the synchro box as too week in this environment as first and second gear get used heavily in low range.
If I cant find a 200 I'll look for a good 2.25 diesel. Think one may come up around here soonOtherwise I'll rebuild the 2.25 petrol. I don't want to go down the Holden avenue as useless in the low end revs with our rough terrain.
