Routine Service gets more involved!

Started a routing service of the 2a on Thursday. Still not complete! Starting from the front, changed the oil, filter, aircleaner, checked brake fluid, greased pedal pivots, front axle on stands to allow easy access swivel level plug and adjust front brakes -
first setback:- excess free play on LH wheel bearings. Disassemble free wheel hub, adjust bearing. Reassemble, needing to make new gaskets as I don't have any, which takes time.
Interlude - next door neighbour phones to ask if he can borrow my small chain hoist to lift the head off his bulldozer, so I check and oil it while he is driving over.
Second setback:- oil leaking from RH hub. Disassemble, fortunately have got it before it is on linings. Degrease everything, remove seal. It has gone hard. Don't remember how old it is. Fit new seal, grease bearings and reassemble - have to make new gaskets again.
Lower front axle to take weight off the springs, paint springs with oil taken from aircleaner. Grease prop shafts and handbrake bell crank shaft.
Oops! look at the time - need to split some firewood and light the fire to cook dinner, and fuel and start the generator as it has been cloudy all day - where did the day go?
To be continued
