    Haynes restoration manual series I, II, III.

    [IMG][/IMG]

    G'day just wondering if any one had used this manual. Is the detail good enough to use as a complete reference, every nut and bolt.

    I'm ordering off compa and can't get a good look at it.

    Thank's for time.

    Hi,

    I have the Restoration Manual and the Workshop manual - and use both.

    Personally I think that the Restoration Manual is broad - and not detailed enough for myself (a beginner).

    For me I use - Restoration Manual, Workshop manual - and even more so this fantastic forum.

    Regards,
    The Grey Ghost.

    I have several!

    MGB, MG Midget, BMC Mini, Morris Minor, VW Beetle, Range Rover Classic 2-door and of course Land Rover Series 1-3. They are a great read if you are thinking of getting into a marque.

    They are fabulous for the areas thay actually cover, esp where bodywork is concerned such as common rust repairs.

    BUUUT they don't cover everything. I guess they can't.

    I used to avidly read a UK magazine called Practical Classics. They ran month by month guides to restoring a particular car & I see they have made these into books:

    [ame="http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mk2-Jaguar-Restoration-Practical-Classics/dp/1873098073"]Mk2 Jaguar Restoration ( Practical Classics & Car Restoration): Amazon.co.uk: Practical Classics & Car Restorer: 9781873098073: Books@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51v%2BDgupftL.@@AMEPARAM@@51v%2BDgupftL[/ame]
    [ame="http://www.amazon.com/MGB-Restoration-Book-Practical-classics/dp/1873098413"]Amazon.com: MGB GT Restoration Book (Practical classics) (9781873098417): Publishing Kelsey: Books@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41KzQgdHjUL.@@AMEPARAM@@41KzQgdHjUL[/ame]

    It may be worth an email to the company to see what's around:

    If they did one on Land Rover, I would tend to go for that over Haynes.
