    Tracking down a prototype

    Hi guys.

I've placed a thread in the S3 section but realised that it would be foolish of me to exclude those just cruising around the generic "Series" forum.

I'm trying to track down a S3 prototype that was made from scratch here in Australia in '73 and the restorer that it was sold to 15 or so years ago.

If anyone can help, please join in the hunt!

    Many thanks

Hi Is the prototype like a normal s3 with a different motor or something completely different in design shape etc. I read a story from a LR mag that one came here with a factory fitted 3L BMW motor & a 6 cylinder version of the 2 1/4 which would be around 3.3L both went really well.I also know of one in NZ with a 2 1/4 petrol turbo in a Series 2 which has been successful. My wife keeps finding old LR mags which I always find interesting.
    Cheers Will
