Mid to late series 2a
The series 2 and early 2a had rectangular rubbers for the spare wheel.
That's the basic bonnet. Later you could order a Delux bonnet. This has a rounded front and a depression for the spare wheel. Can post a picture if you want.
Its a early S2 bonnet - Flat front + hinges
I thought s2a had the same hinges and same front.
The deluxe bonnet only came available on s3?
or were the an option or standard on station wagons?
same as both my 59 sii basic bonnets.

Series 2/2a standard bonnet. Pre about 1969, when hinges taking only three bolts were introduced.
The deluxe bonnet, with a rounded front edge, and coming either with or without a depression to accommodate the spare wheel and collect water, came, I think, with the first Series 2 station wagons, and was optional on all models, listed as standard on 109s from the start of 2a, although many Australian assembled 2a 109s had the standard bonnet.
