You couldn't move it....it looks so good there, and it is great to sit on while shooting rabbits.
:? I may get ostrasized for saying this , but I was wondering if anyone else has the same problem with the spare tyre sittng up on the bonnet, the problem being that i cant see past the flipping great thing and have no idea where the front corner is!!!!and it makes the bonnet so bloody heavy to open!!!! 8)

 Um,er,ah,well actually it fits real snug under neath the rear seat, makes the steering a bit lighter, and gives a better forward view!!!!maybe i mite get a foam fake wheel to put there!!!
The point about shooting rabbits is right on the mark... nothing like the feeling of driving at 60km/h through the bush with the goggles on... holding on for dear life with every bump! Occasionally turning around and tapping on the glass yelling... "SLOW DOWN YOU IDIOT!!" hehe
Yes you have a point about not seeing over it... have you ever noticed on all Ex-Army Landys, that the left mudguard has a dint?? Its the only section that is not protected by the brushguard (aka Bullbar)
I felt odd that my Series III didn't have a dint, but the other two Series 2A's both had their "dint". Never had the thought about removing "the dint" cause its part of the character!
I'm going to mount another tyre to the back of the tub behind the seats in the front. You can buy/make a fitting that has a steel plate, with a T piece that pivots up and down, and on the end of the bar is a thread, in which the bar goes through the tyre, and is fastened in place by a wingnut on the end of the thread. Very basic but very effective.
The bonet is very heavy to lift... but thats half the fun of it all!
It's half the fun watching srevice attendants and mechanics struggle to lift the bonnet.
It might just be me, but I can actually see the corner if I lean to the left.
On my brothers he actually moved it to the bonnet to free up the space in the back.
Maybe you should try to find one of those recessed deluxe bonnets so that the tyre sits down a bit lowwer?

My spare only ever sits on the bonnet if I need the space in the back.
Apart from blocking your view, blocking the air vents, making it hard to lift the bonnet and dangerous to lean under the bonnet - if you rearend some bad enough, in a high vehicle, the wheel/bonnet will most likely end up in their car and most likely kill someone.
Looks way cool though

 hmm ... the view out front is a little different since i put the tojo buckets in as i now sit a little higher than normal(now it really feels like a truck!!)and dont really need the sun visors that where cheerfully donated by the taranogo down the paddock!!how ever i once put the spare on the bonnet( read grunt, gasp ,struggle)after figuring out the easiest way to get it UP there was to actually bounce the wheel like a basketball up on to the scrub bar then GENTLY negotiate it into position. After a short drive around the paddock and up and down the road, it very quickly was removed and put back under the rear seat!!!as mentioned previous, airvents blocked , sight diminished , steering heavy...............
