    Rear main seal 2.25 petrol

So, doing this to an engine on the weekend before it goes back in the car. Reading through the manual, there doesn't seem to be too much to be bothered about, but I wasn't sure what the referance to the tools to guide the seal in or something like that?

Anything I need to look out for or is it straight forward. Done dozens of rear mains over the years, but not in one of these.

    Cheers - Gav

You talking about the t/seals gav, What i did was 2 bits of angle drill a hole in each so they linded up with where the t/seals went slightly tapped them so you had a tappered guide for the t seal to go in

I am about to do this tonight or tomorrow ( as soon as the Hylomar turns up ) and I am not looking forward to it I seem to remember the experience being somewhat different than the book last time.

Just did mine on the weekend. All I can say is I hope I don't have to do it again too soon!

Just finished changing the rear main. Every bit the bugger of a job I remember it to be.
