    AVM cap screws

I'm trying to remove the 6 Allen screws from each freewheel hub, installed on a S3.
I got a couple out, but the rest don't want to budge.
I thought of applying heat, but the selector knob appears to be plastic?
    Any suggestions appreciated.
Would it be sensible to drill the screw heads off?
They have a non-standard long countersunk head. I'm thinking I could reshape some standard Allen screws to replace.
Even better - anyone have some spare screws?

These are on the S3 wreck I bought. If I find they don't have the same number of splines as the S2A, I'll swap over the drive shafts too. Unless there's a reason I can't or shouldn't do that?

Spray them with a penetrating fluid and leave overnight (WD40 will do), then use an impact driver and apply pressure while lightly tapping with a hammer to undo them, I'd be surprised if that didn't get them!

You may need a special bit for the driver though...

Since they are AVM hubs then you can get a seal kit for them from ARB or another supplier and it will have new screws in it. Not too expensive, I think it cost around $28 or so a couple of years ago for a kit which does both hubs. They had to order it in but it didn't take long.

    Cheers,

Thanks Tim, I think that's the way I'll have to go.
The screws were installed very tightly.

I tried the impact, no go - just a broken bit.
