I went and checked out a 2A on the weekend. I would have bought it then and there if not for a couple of concerns. One of which is the standard turning circle. Maybe OK for out bush, but I can see it being a nightmare in a day-to-day suburban driving context. Is there a way to improve the turning radius via mods or aftermarket kit?
I tried a search for this but results seem a bit thin on the ground.

Depending upon what wheels it has there are some slight mods possible.
Firstly the turning circle is set by adjusting the stops on the rear of the swivel ball seal retaining plate. You adjust the stop so that the tyre doesn't hit the springs behind the axle and the front of the axle is set by the track rod being the correct length and the adjuster on the oposite side.
On standard 231601 5' rims there is no other option.
When you get to 5 1/2", rims the Series II and Australian 5 1/2" rims 272309 have a positive offset and will slightly reduce your turning circle.
If you can aquire a set of the neutral offset 569690 rims, (what we used to call English rims, because they were the UK spec SIIa rims) it will allow you to get a slightly smaller turning circle once you set the stops to the maximum turn.
Because for the width of the chassis rails and spring packs, there is no other option to modify the turning circle unless you fit wider track axle assemblies which require engineering certification.
You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
The turning circle is only a problem if you let it be one. Around town is fine but parking can be interesting. If you know the local spots that are less congested and have more room between the rows, etc, then all good. Diagonal and rear to curb is fine. You may have to walk a bit further to get to the shop, but most of us could use the exercise.
Now, when you get a bit longer - a 130 or worse - a 6x6 Perentie, then things get even more interesting in the parking lot.
Go on - buy it... You know you want to.. Don't let yourself talk you out of buying it for such a small issue.
