Ways to remove or lessen hairline scratches and other small imperfections on glass

Upon cleaning Series Landy glass i came across number of hairline scratches and some mineral deposit this is after it had been nicely cleaned with glass cleaner and plenty of warm water.

I can run over finger nail without holding onto glass so it's not really deep see attached pic's

I would ideally like to restore the glass if possible. so would like to know if anyone had experience with Cerium Oxide powder compound or any other buffing agent (apart from toothpaste and baking soda stuff) and how safe it is to be used on auto glass (in-terms of compound heating etc)
Also, will any of this create lens effect on glass?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

    Regards,

    Thanks Whitehillbillies,

Also found this mob Polishing Kit - Glass & Perspex Scratch Repair Kits - Polish Up Store

I see lot of different products can be used. However, not sure if anyone has proven results or will it come to professional help at the end.

Oh never mind !! i'll order some of that stuff and give it a go.

A mate of mine used to sell second hand televisions.

He used toothpaste to take the scratches off the screens.
