careful with the truth, misquoting creates rumors and the snowball effect of the www takes over.
I just fitted a pair today which I got from all four x 4 spares kotara nsw
$14 each less 10% $12.73 x 2 = 25.46 shipped to me in qld total $39.50
heck, for 20 bucks each, my time in sourcing belting, cutting it and measuring, drilling , not worth the effort.
$20 each at my door.
genuine brit part, with the Dunlop logo and looks the goods.
bought them on ebay. arrived on the second day.
you only need two as they are only fitted to the rear.
I think they are unnecessary, as the new shock absorbers are heaps strong enough, but they were fitted by mr land rover, so I just plod along with his way of doing things.
Hi Harry,
Are the two lengths different ?
If so why.
Some eBay sites listed them as the same, others different lengths.
Thanks

Series 2a parts book gives same part both sides for 109, but different for 88. This will be because the springs and hence the straps are closer to the diff on the 88 and have to allow for the different axle shape on each side as the housing widens to accommodate the diff centre.
The difference between 88 and 109 will account for the confusion.
John
both the same, I noted that some sell two lengths also and found the parts book shows different numbers too.
but as I also fitted new shocks, I didn't think that would matter.
I will drive it today and see if I can extend the axle to the max each side, if not, will pick it up with the fork lift on Tuesday, to see if the straps do anything.
I have driven it for the last week with no straps or shocks and was surprised how little difference there was to having shocks, until it rained and the springs got wet - then it got a little bouncy, but not much..
I think 11 leaf springs are a bit strong for a shorty with no load..
Thanks Harry And John,
Just had a look at my SWB and you can see why the strap is longer on one side.
Does the diff on the LWB sit more central ????
Harry is your landy SWB or LWB ????

I used old seat belt webbing. Been on there for ~30yrs, doesn't rot.
