I thought there was something on here previously... have you done a search??
the name seems to ring a bell.
I've just been given another Series 3 109", which appears to be a 1979 model. Having had a quick crawl under and around it, I've discovered it has an "Olding" forward facing PTO which I didn't originally notice because there is no actuating lever in the cab (and it was raining when I picked it up).
I can't find much about this unit, except that Olding made winches (and possibly bodies?), became Garwood-Olding at some point, were located in Sydney (?) and are no longer in business.
Does anyone have any information about the Olding PTO/winch setup, or should I just assume "similar to other such PTO's" and move swiftly on?

I have, with little result! There are a handful of hits on Olding, one relates to a hydraulic winch on a military truck (no details), one relates to bodywork. There is one passing mention of a Garwood-Olding PTO winch on a LR, but again with no details.
Google hits are equally sparse and unhelpful, and largely relate to larger hydraulic winches.
It would seem that perhaps the Olding PTO for Land Rovers wasn't exactly a big seller!!
