Where are you getting them fitted ? The tyre place you use should be able to get them for you.

Just had 5 Super Grippers fitted to the Defender but they used the original tubes. After Christmas I have 5 to fit to the Dormobile and for those I need inner tubes.
I'm using a company in Dandenong that is happy to remove the tyres from the split rims & fit to the Land Rover rims. Just need to find a buyer for the Toyota split rims !

Some (probably a shrinking number!) of tyre places will replace the valves on tubes.

Any Bridgestone or Michelin dealer (I refuse to buy any other brand of tube) should be able to supply these or get them for you. I've never had a problem myself.

Some tyre places don't stock tubes anymore. They sell that few that they have to unpack and re-fold them every few month to stop them cracking at the fold. Not worth it.

The place I use order them in because, apart from trucks, they don't get many tube sales only the odd Troopy or Land Rover.

I've had a s/h one folded up in the back of my Defender for years without it cracking at the folds. I've seen this happen but it seems to be more of a problem with very old age, UV and/or poor quality rubber.

I had some experiences on motorbikes with 'cheap' tubes years ago. When punctured they didn't leak slowly but failed catastrophically, would only use Michelin after a few incidents.

Thanks for quick reply guys. So i guess it pays to use known brand. My worry is that i don't want to get something that is made of inferior quality and i end up with issues down the line.

Colin, i asked few local tyre places and they don't seem to do them (one of the young kid had strange look on his face when inquiring for tubes). As John suggested, i might explore the option of getting valves replaced since tubes in split rims are new .

Ok. You can buy 750x16 tubes with tr15 valve but they are getting hard to get. You can buy 750x16 tube with tr13 valves easier and also a small plastic valve spacer that fits on the bottom of the tr13 valve and then fits snugly into the bigger hole in the rim.

I recently had a flat tyre with a brand new tube fitted in it. My own fault coz i forgot to air up straight away from beach driving. I bought a new tube in kingston and they had one with a tr15 valve. $35.00. I fitted the tube with 2 screwdrivers coz i didnt have any tyre levers. All good. So they are available but hard to get.

If you have new tubes fitted take a small tin of baby powder along and give it to them. Tyre places don't have talc anymore to put on the tube.
About 7 years ago I started to fix and replace the tubed tyres myself. Gives me a chance to inspect the rim. Ever since they did a wheel balance with baked mud on the inside of the rim I take the tube less wheels off the vehicle and take them to the shop.
The most conscientious tyre repairer I've ever come across was in the Flinders Ranges at Angorichina.
