Thoughts on Safari Door Wheel Carrier

    Gurus,

Young bloke wants to put some slightly wider steel wheels on the SIII 109. The spare wont fit in the wheel well behind the drivers seat. So thinking about putting it on the back door. So far advise is avoid the bold directly to the door types, on account on weight and stress so I'm thinking maybe the PM132 (Paddocks own brand) or PM287 that appears to be a remake of the Mantek carrier. this seems a bit better as it opens with the door.

Anyone got any experience, advice or thoughts on the subject, biggest concern is the wider wheel fitting.

    Cheers

    Ian

I made one for my 110. I mounted the wheel the other way around to standard.

Heres mine it can be used with a well side tail gate too, but I still hate having a wheel on it
