						SubscriberHi All,
I noticed the seal face on my half shafts are not the best, they're not totally stuff, just not looking brand new. So I am contemplating whether or not I should replace them. But then I thought, how important is it that the seal seals well anyway ? Is there are great fear of diff oii getting into the swivels or vice versa ?
Of course I could just smooth them down a bit with some 1200.
Any advice welcome.
Cheers,
John

SubscriberThanks for confirming John, I was thinking is wouldn't be a big issue.

Not expensive to buy, if you are removing the inner bearing race you could remove the collars and clean them up in a lathe.
Spacer - Paddock Spares
As John said.......if the surface is likely to damage the seal then regular checks to make sure the oil hasn't migrated.

SubscriberHa, I just has one inner race replaced not realising that the seal "race" could also do with replacing - Doh !!
I order a couple of the seal "races" now, see how the timing of it all goes.
Cheers,
John
