do they go inside and up? any water that gets on them would be channelled back out?
I'm guessing.
Hi All,
The new door seals I bought that go between top and bottom door halves have a lip along the edge, see pic :

The question, where does the lip go, inside or outside, and up or down ? I am presuming outside and down, but if anyone knows better, I'd like to know.
Thanks
John

The recess is for the pop rivet heads now you have to work out lip inside or out.
Is it going to spend a lot of time in the rain or will it be mostly in the shed & out only in good weather ?
When the door top is bolted to the door will the rubber seal evenly between the doortop & door ?
I think outside looks better but I'm not sure it really makes much difference.

The parts catalogue is no help. It appears to have a bead on both edges, which seems to me to be an ideal way to hold water, and rust out the window frame quick-time...
I'd be going inside and up.
Peter.
Thanks guys !!
With the rubber placed with middle groove for rivets facing down, that means the lip points up, so the choice is lip facing up inside, or lip facing up outside. If I put it on the outside I guess that could become a water trap, so I'll go with lip facing up on the inside.

John
Hello from Brisbane.
I’m a little confused about “rivets downwards” - the seal attaches to the upper half the door from below.
Probably like going “up to Sydney” or “down to Sydney” from a fixed position.
Cheers,
Neil
Hi Neil,
One one side, the seal has a groove along it's length about half way across the rubber. The side with the groove faces the bottom door half, and side without groove faces top half of the door.
Cheers,
John
