Thread: Stage 1 V8 - advice on buying?

Hey everyone. I'm new to Land Rovers but have owned a few old Holdens and Fords before. We're looking at potentially a series III or stage 1 V8. I've found the generic info on what to look for in terms of rust and things for stage IIIs, but is there anything specific to look for on a stage 1 model that I should be aware of? And how do they compare for prices/value compared to a regular stage III? Its kind of hard to tell as they aren't coming up as often for sale.

This Stage 1 has me interested. Being a beachside car I'm concerned about rust, and its got a few 'upgrades' like the bonnet scoop and wheelarch flairs so its not super original, but I'm not too fussed about that. Cripes that guide looks great, hadnt come across that in my research so far.
