I recently converted my EV Series 3 to Disc Brakes using a home grown design based on an idea I saw 40 years ago.

I conjured up my own rear brakes after prototyping a modified falcon rear rotor then came up with a more elegant solution that standard Series wheels will fit over ( but Ive used Wolf wheels as standard wheels wont fit over my front brakes)

Because its my daily driver I wanted to make sure Insurance was not going to be compromised so I had it inspected & signed off by VASS (Vicroads engineer) who said it was an impressive conversion and one of the most fun and best stopping 4x4 he's driven.

The simplicity and cost effectiveness of this rear disc brake conversion makes me wonder if people who have done a previous front disc brake conversion would now want to retrofit rear discs. The 10mm Disc rotor Ive used on the rear is out of the box front rotor (unmodified) from a Suzuki Jimny and the caliper comes from rear of a AU1 Falcon.

The rear hubs obviously need to be machined & holes drilled & tapped to mount the rotor & a simple caliper adaptor plate mounted inplace of the old backing plate.
