There are still clutch rebuild services available, Lionel. Is it worth it? Dunno, depends if you think that clutch kits will cease to be available.

Hello All,
Would you take old Series pressure plates to the scrap metal place or hang on to them because they can be rebuilt? After all, our vehicles are getting increasingly sparse on the ground as the years progress.
I inherited some old pressure plates from the previous owners when I bought different Series vehicles. Because new clutch kits are still readily available and the kits come with new pressure plates - is there any point in keeping the old inherited pressure plates? I have a trip to the scrap metal place planned this week.
So, do I keep the pressure plates - just in case - or do they take the same trip to the scrappy's along with the rest of the load?
Kind regards
Lionel

Hello Tins,
Thank you for the reply. I have bought a couple of Blusteele Heavy Duty Clutch Kits for Land Rover 109s from eBay and they are still readily available. I am happy with the purchases.
It was more of one of those occasions when you think to yourself ... throw or keep? If I do throw it away is the decision to do so going to come back and bite me on the arse.
At the moment the old pressure plates are in the trailer. From their appearance they were not stored very well by their previous owners. They would need to have the face machined before they could be used again. I thought I would seek sage advice about whether or not to retrieve them from the load.
Kind regards
Lionel
