Do you have a workshop manual? Very good illustrations. It's a pretty basic and easy set up.

						SupporterHi All,
Progressing well on my Series III restoration and I am up to the brakes.
Happy to fumble my way through the body, dash, engine and gearbox but when it comes to the brakes I am putting my hand up for expert help.
I have all the brake parts (fwd & rear) + remote servo and currently planning to buy master cylinder, pipes and fittings. I live in West Pymble in Sydney.
Does anyone have a recommendation of good brake person who can help me with this work?
Thanks,
Chris

I'm with DiesleSE. It's quite simple. However, if you lack confidence in your abilities to achieve a safe end result ( totally understandable BTW ) then maybe actually do the work yourself and then have a competent old school mech check your work.

SupporterThank you both - I have the manual and it does look okay compared to the other jobs I have attempted.
I like the idea of giving it a go and getting a mechanic to give a quality check.
As with the others above - it is pretty simple, and if you follow the manual, should be fairly easy.
Unfortunately, I am coming from the perspective of having worked on these braking systems for sixty plus years, so it is easy to say that!
But my first hydraulic brake work was not on a Landrover, but on a VW, in 1961 (but generally similar). I and my brother did that with no instruction or experience other than the workshop manual and our previous experience with mechanical brakes, and it worked normally after we got it back together. (After a long search for the bits that sprang out when we took the master cylinder apart!)
