Doesn't that go through the holes at the bottom of the lever, with the rodto the brake through the hole in it, and also keeps it in place?
(I'm in bed using the laptop and don't have access to my manuals without getting out of bed)

						SupporterHi,
I am up to restoring the handbrake and I can see this pin (part number 543281) and I can't tell what it is for. I am sure it might have been attached to something when I disassembled the car but cannot find any reference.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Chris

Definitely for the linkage rod that connects the lever to the 90 degree crank, the crank which fits on a pin on the chassis has two small rods one from the lever the other into the brake drum backing plate.
