    Discovery 1 V8 radiator into a 1988 110 V8?

    Hi all
I am at the stage where I will be throwing my Disco 3.9 serpentine engine into my 1988 110 V8. I still want to utilise the oil cooler lines that were standard on the Disco V8. If I can use the radiator with the incorporated oil cooler from the disco this should be an easy job otherwise I will have to get an aftermarket oil cooler. Does anyone know if the radiator from the disco is a straight swap for the 110 radiator? Ive just finished porting and matching my heads and Im look forward to seeing how my combination of Hedman headers, Piper Torquemax cam, Edelbrock performer manifold and Edelbrock 500 carb will go on LPG and petrol.

The radiator wont just drop in and bolt up. They have a different type of mounting brackets. I think they are too long as well. I think your best bet is to stick to your V8 county radiator. I don't know how your shroud would fit the different motor. The original 4.6 water pump it in a different location to the county V8. The county radiator is enough to keep up with the V8, I had mine converted to a 4 row radiator when I put the 4.4 Leyland V8 in my county. The oil cooler on our 91 disco is on the gbox not the motor. Are you sure they are on the engine???. I am also in the middle of fitting a 4.6 in my fathers 1990 V8 county and rebuilding the box so If you want any more info send a private message and we can discuss it further if you like. My county with the 4.4 EFI on gas goes really well. I have had the manifold fitted with LPG injector nozzels and when the finances allow it, it will be injected as well.

    Update?

I've always thought a Disco 3.9 or a P38 4.6 would work quite well in front of a ZF box in a 110 County.

So have you guys finished?I mean darn it, you've had more than 3 months....

Yep, the Disco radiator is too wide to fit into a County.

If you do have it in, you will have noticed that the top radiator hose comes out in a different location with the 3.9 and the Radiator has a different mount position too. How did you make the 3.9 top hose work???
    Cheers
