I placed a 1800 x 1800 steel tray on my new 130 d/c having it 1800 long gave me 500 mm over hang from the end of the chassis to the end of the tray.
This worked out well with tow hitch as i don't have to lean under to connect the hitch.

I also gapped the tray from the back of the cab so I can fit a filler for the new long range tank I'm building.
As for the width I looked at the widest part of the defender (guard extensions) and sat the tray just behind that width.
