JB the engine is essentially the same as the standard SIIA and SIII 2.6 litre engine. In fact you can almost swap the engines directly over.

The biggest problem is that the water pump on the FC is the same as that on the Rover 3 litre and they are getting hard to acquire.

The Land Rover waterpump has more impeller vanes and requires an adapter on the front of the block, if you do this then the pulley needs to be replaced and then you can't fit the uni-joint for the drive shaft to the remote fan. You would also have to use the Land Rover head to match the Land Rover water pump.

As for cost, parts aren't cheap and usually come from the UK, although many Aus suppliers will still have NOS SIII bits.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

JB after your recent acquisition of the SIIB Firefly I re-read this post. There was only one Home market 6 cyl SIIA Forward Control! i.e. all the other SIIA 6 cyls were exported.

Regarding the engines all the other information in my previous post is the same.

A lot of series forward controls in the U.K subsequently recieved Rover P5a car 3 litre engines, however you will have difficulty fitting any of the Westlake head 3 litre car engines. The Mk 1 head is the one that would be the most direct fit.
