    loss of power in 5th gear

    I hav a 300 Tdi and have been loosing power in 5th gear, I have been driving on the M1 to work each day and she powers up to 95-100kmh in 4th ok but when i go into 5th gear its all good on the flat until i start up a small incline. I will be doing 110kmh then she just won't hold it on any incline and the steeper the hill the slower she goes.
    I will need to do an oil/filter change in 1000k but everything else looks ok in the engine bay.
    there is a slight leak out of the rocker cover and the oil rubber tube that goes from the head cover to the block. (6 inch long pipe with an elbow at the top)
    Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Go and get some diesel addative and put that in. There is a slight problem with the 200 and 300 tdi and that is that these days diesel has a low amount of sulphur in it and the injector pump needs it to work to work at it's best. So putting addative in to the fuel puts that back in and then gives you back the mid range torque which is what you are missing. Makes road driving and hill driving alot better

    1st - check for water/gunk in the fuel (valve at bottom of fuel filter). Will it rev out in lower gears? If not - injectors and or fuel pump.

    Check the hose on the top of injector pump that goes to the turbo. They can melt or split, but the loose power in every gear. still needs to be checked.

    high revs in each gear sounds like its pounding its own exhaust. I will look at the hoses.

    its only been in the last week, but i have 235/85/16 MAXXIS on at the moment.

    I did add a liquimoly Diesel anti nock Plus to the last tank of diesel i bought, maybe it loosened some dirt etc as it went thru the fuel line.

    They are the same rolling radius as the standard 7.50 x 16, so they are not the problem.

    Check the throttle cable adjustment.
    Its a common issue on the TDi.You may not be getting full travel.
