Freelander woes
Just wanted to introduce myself
Names is Heath
Bought a 2001 freelander V6 in feb, 152k on the clock. Ride was nice good condition throughout log books, didn't look like a bad buy.
Unlucky, had the girl for a week, took it down a few rough tracks around batemans bay and had a good time.
Returning home coming up the mountain and she made a bang as it kicked back a gear, now with an 8.5 month pregnant wife I started to get worried.
Got it almost home just nursing it home and it did it again at low speed and then there was this god awful grinding noise in the front. Turned out to be the engine mount had gone and the tranny was helping hold the engine in place.
Then to top it off the gearbox went. Was getting the F4 error code and it wouldn't change gears and all sorts of dramas.
Lucky for me it has been free fix, even though it still is in the shop as the dealer must fix it under the government statutory warranty.
Hoping to get her back this week once the dealer fixes the other issues with it.
So my intro to freelancers has been interesting to say the least.
Hope to chat to some of you about mods like lift kit and the 04 facelift and anything else that comes along.
Love the forum, and have been around landies since I was in the womb. Owned a series III when I was younger and know they can be expensive to fix, but a hell of a lot fun too

Welcome!
Hopefully this is as bad as it gets for your Freebie ownership.
I have a 2002 V6 which aside from a couple of minor issues has been pretty good and always great to drive.
