Roof rails for FL2? Will another make fit?

HI, looking around for roof rails for my freelander. Does anyone know if another more popular make of car might fit. Having trouble sourcing the genuine ones.

I have after market racks without the rails that sit on the roof and clip into the door well. Be warned that the car has a fault where even the genuine racks make too much wind noise. I found this out from an lr salesman when i asked why the front bar wasnt on the rails on a demo model. He said the car would be unsellable due to noise so they removed it. I had already bought mine so he could be honest. Use the aero style bar to reduce it. Mine are Thule but I probably would go Rhino if I had it over. The Rhino bar is wider and more aero dynamic. I originally had the Thule square bar but got rid of that quick, couldn't have a conversation at 80 kms/hr. Mike

Are we talking about the rails that run front to rear or the cross bars? If the latter make sure you get some with an aero x section as the original land rover product makes heaps of noise. Thule make good cross bars.

After the rails that run front to back, and I think you can add bars accross the rails

Landrover do not carry them? I suppose the genuine ones are about 10x more expensive than aftermarket ones if they were available.

I suspect that genuine will be the only option.

Landrover has them for $780! I just can't justify that.

They were closer to $1500 when I bought mine and its why I passed on them. The towbar was dear enough

I had a rola bar fitted to my FL2.... its sitting in the garage as the FL2 was written off.

Happy to sell it, but as mentioned above, you hear the noise over 80kms.

PM if you are interested in the roof rack, been meaning to sell them for a while.

HI mate, yes, definitely interested in the racks for the FL2. Is it only one bar, or rails, or a set of racks? My private email address is fender22@tpg.com.au
