Folks - I've just had Shannons re-value my vehicle after her resto. She was originally insured for purchase price. They have now insured her for $15,000.

True. But if something happens to her, I want to be in a position to sort it out, so to have Shannons re-value my truck was nice.

Also with Shannons, in the case of a write off, will you get the wreck for free or do you just have first option to buy. When I was looking for insurance Shannons would only give me first option to buy not to get free. I went elsewhere and haven't regretted it.

Well - I don't know Garry - I definitely get the wreck for free, I specifically requested that when I took out the insurance. And my premium for comprehensive insurance is a massive $92.00 per annum - I'm happy!

Actually, I think I read in the disclosure that all policies now provide the wreck for free (with Shannons) if the vehicle is over a certain age???? Not sure though, but my policy does.

You are correct - Shannons only provide free wreck retention for vehicles over 35 years of age.
