						hi
i've posted this in the disco3.co.uk site but no help. my problem is i get a slight vibration when turning my steering wheel on my '05 D3. its intermittent and at low speeds and only when turning. it feels like the steering wheel is grinding against something in the steering column housing, right where the wheel joins the column. tbh the workshop had a look but couldnt replicate the problem - they balanced the wheels and other stuff but its still there. is it worth spraying some WD40 on the join? its only a slight rubbing but noticeable.
Any ideas?

DcNexus,
The D3 had some issue with ball joint and elements of the front suspension which could possible cause issues with steering.
I am sure someone with more info than I will come along soon to provide more info however that might be a good place to start.
If you do a search or check out the FAQ in the sticky at the start of this channel that might give you some more info.
Hope you get to the bottom of this,
George

						SubscriberHi Lukesky7,
You seem pretty certain it is a physical rubbing issue. Can you actually hear the column rubbing in a specific area, or are you feeling a vibration through the wheel ? If it is more like a vibration through the wheel when turning, have the power steering pump checked.

Hi lukesky7,
Does the "grinding" occur at full lock or partial lock? If the former, it may just mean that the "bump stops" need greasing.
Best Wishes,
Peter
