    Cruddy air filter.

I have fitted a Mantec RAI to the Defender but was getting a bit of water in the filter box after water crossings. I've found that the valve in the drain plug for the filter box is missing and water is entering through here.
Would it be okay to just plug the drain up completely?

If you plug up the hole that will stop water from escaping if it gets in from the air intake.
You would be better off looking for a 1 way valve of some sort that will allow water to flow threw one way. (An animal water bottle tip with the free flow plastic ball bearing would be something to look at)

Have a look at the drains used in sailing dinghies - allow water out, but not in.
