			TD5 Idle Problem

					Hi all,

I've noticed lately (probably the last 2 weeks or so) my TD5 has been idling strange. It has felt a little strange when driving it once or twice but I didn't think a whole lot of it. When driving at 50kmh in 3rd it seems to either be idling or revving (not a very good explanation I know). I touch the accelerator the tiniest bit and it is either off and on, I've never noticed it do it like this before.

What made me notice more though was driving down my driveway. It's quite a steep driveway so I usually hit it in low 1st, partly to save my brakes, which are on their way out and partly to make it easier to reverse up in the morning when she's cold.

Usually when going down in first low it grabs and holds but revs fairly high (it's very steep). Now it doesn't seem to grab so much as idle very low, cutting in or out. It's holding the car a lot better but doesn't seem right. At one point it felt like it was going to stall so I gave it a bit of juice and it performed a little better after that.

I'm yet to work out whether it is a hot or cold thing. I also haven't noticed a huge difference in fuel economy, although I only moved to the big smoke recently so I'm not sure if that's why it's using a bit more than I expected.

 Any ideas would be great.

 Cheers,

 Xul.
