I've got nothing on that list, but I did have a set of Rapier racks down in the graveyard if anyone wants them.
On second thoughts I had better check tomorrow that they weren't consumed by Black Saturday.
Wagoo.
I was at Bandiana Mil Museum on Thursday. As well as looking at all their great exhibits I was hoping to get some pointers on originality from their 101 that I understood was on display.
Soon after I entered I was approached by a gentleman from the Museum and asked if I owned the 101 parked outside. I indicated that I was and that I was there to have a look at their display vehicle. He indicated that it was not in a fit condition to display and that he was the one doing the restoration and would like to have a look at a running one to get some ideas as he did not have access to another vehicle.
He had just got the engine of the 101 running that morning but only by by-passing all its electrics and providing power direct to the dizzy, using a coil off some other vehicle and using a mechanical fuel pump operated by hand.
Anyway, we had a look over my vehicle and then he invited me over to the rebuild area (not in the museum) to have a look at the 101.
So this is it
While it does have all the Rapier Racks which I have never seen in real life before it is missing a number of bits and the Museum does not really have the funding to go buying many bits.
Some of the bits that it does not have:
- points and dizzy (24v)
- innards of the 24v dizzy need replacing eg mechanical advance but they may be able to rebuild
- original 24v (actually 10v) coil
- windscreen washer reservoir, brackets and covers
- winch pullies and swivel housing on the front bumper
- winch cable
- fire extinguisher (mount in front of passenger seat)
- brake fluid reservoirs
- rebuild kit for the brake master cylinder
- ignition switch
- air filter outer body panel
- original rectangular reversing lamps
- indicator lenses
- the battery box cover
- their canvas is green rather than olive drab and looks like a UK ring in. Though I am not sure all Aust 101s had olive drab tilts.
- various plates and stickers etc
That is all I can think of at the moment. So if you have any of the above (or indeed and 101 parts) - excess to your requirements - and would like to make it a donation to the museum - how about sending them to:

No funds! I find that a bit hard to understand. Maybe they could put their hand out?
Gillard pledges extra millions for War Memorial - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)
AWM gets plenty, Bandiana and puckapunyal get nothing. Puckapunyal survives on $9k a year.
Anybody got a 101 fire extuinguisher bracket photo. I have a couple, one may suit. I saw you talking with the fella at Bandiana Garry, funny thing is I have a mate here in tassie with the same name. Scary!
She is looking a whole lot better than last time I saw her that's for sure. Anything we can do to help the bloke.

Oh, and on the lights, Tim Vibert has all of those lenses bar I think the reversing light ( I saw them myself last week at his place). Might be worth a call to him.

I picked up a heap of indicator lenses from the UK. If they arrive, I'll send them up.
Do they have an email address?
Hi All
Great to see all the help here.
I would like to see the Commonwealth Government do something more towards funding these type of projects.
As education of our youngsters can be so much easier, if an example is shown to them.
I wish I could help somehow, but you do have my gratitude.
Cheers Arthur
