I have a question which doesn't seem to be covered by any related threads.
Is there an adjustment to the resting clutch pedal height independent of the master cylinder rod adjustment in the pedal box? If so, where is it?
I found that my master cylinder rod adjustment was incorrect, so that the clutch was taking up too high. This was adjusted, and I now have about 6 mm of free play at the pedal, but the pedal is now a little bit lower than the brake pedal. I would like to get it closer to spec if I can. The clutch itself has always worked perfectly apart from this, but the pedal free play has always been too small after a master cylinder change.
Can this be adjusted, or should I not worry about it? Any information would be appreciated. (Defender Xtreme 2004 TD5 BTW!)
Thanks for the info. The pedal stop is obviously that 17mm bolt at the bottom edge of the pedal box.
In my case it seems to be the master cylinder rod length which is dictating the pedal position, as there is quite a bit of clearance between the stop and the pedal, so there is not a lot I can do about the pedal height.
Maybe the clutch is a bit worn?
Cheers,
Lionel
