I have an opportunity to purchase this 109 wagon from a wrecker. Looks like it was part of a job lot from a clearance sale.

It is very complete, last registered 1994, fitted with Holden 202 which may or may not run.

Bulkhead may be rusted beyond repair, and there is some rust in door tops, door bottoms, and side pillars. Chassis looks good all round.

One guard has been damaged and repaired (badly), but rest of body is very straight. Original upholstery, door and roof linings all intact and good nick. Same for instruments, fitted floor coverings and flat Smiths heater.

CalVIN says 6 cylinder, 1966-71, export.

A couple of questions:

• Does 'export' mean imported, as opposed to local assembly?
• Does this make it special?
• Is it easy to replace 202 with original 6, or major work required?
• Any suggestions what a reasonable price might be?

Export usually means UK assembled for a market not the UK. The only exception to this is CKD which are also "export" but are assembled outside Solihull. Only about 10% of Land Rovers in Australia were Export, mostly fire engines, forward control and you guessed it Station Wagons.

Without checking anything a suffix H will be 1971 or later.

Rover 6 go back in very easily, however the bottom radiator outlet needs to be swapped to the other side.

What ever you do don't drive the Holden 202 or you will be very underwhelmed with the performance of the Rover 6.

Try find out its scrap value and then add maybe 50 percent to that price.

That would cover their expences and a little profit in their pocket as well, --that should do the job.

and if the bulkheads shot I may have one for a 6 pot that you can have for p+H plus a nominal strip out fee (just enough to cover goops and sprays to get it free)
