    SVX and 285/75r16 KM2's

Not wanting to hi jack another post I thought I might ask this question as a seperate thread. Will 285/7516's fit 7JJ SVX rims without a lift or any other modification and without rubbing or causing other problems that may cause trouble both from the vehicle or she who pays the bills. If not and I go ahead and buy them out of my bosses tax refund, and any problems start, I think this time she will cut off the bits of my anatomy that decended at a very young age. This is my last chance at the tyre choice I feel so I need to get it right.

What are you using the vehicle for and why do you feel that you need to go to 285's anyway?

    No they wont fit
    Yes they will rub
No they arent legal on 7" rims

Get 255-85 KM2s... They fit nice, are legal and roll along really well (not as much drag as fatties)

I use it a lot pulling the boat up the beach/rivers in the Kimberley region. I think I may go with tombie's idea of the 255's. Does anyone have pictures of 110 shod with 255/85 KM2 so I can show the boss?

    Hey Allan,

I have been looking at 265/75/16 Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ's. All report they seem to be a very good all round - off road orientated tyre. At this stage this is what I intend to buy.

In the old talk they 10.5 x 32".

The fella at the tyre shop said that they had put 285 on 7" rims, but they did not recommend it, he went on to say 7 1/2” rims were about the minimum he would suggest.

    Cheers

I've got 265/75/16 Toyo MT's on the wifes ninty but on 8 inch rims. These work well on it. I originaly had them on the Puma but it didn't like the 8 inch rims for some reason, wheel wobble problem at times.
