    Cupholders in D4 / D3

Hi guys, long time, no post. Hope you are all doing swell and enoying your machines on this beautiful winter's day.

I have a question about the cup holder inserts. We are about to move overseas and are selling our D3 . I went to a lot of trouble to find cup holder inserts for it so we could put coffee cups in there without them tumbling around. In the end, I got some advice on item numbers from a helpful person on here and sent to the UK for some to be shipped.

Well, we are moving to the middle east and most likely going to get a D4 over there. Can anyone tell me if the D4 has the same issue re cup-holders as the D3? That is, that they are massive (built to fit a 1 litre bottle of water I believe) hence smaller coffee cups are unstable in them.

I am wondering whether I should try and sell my cupholders before leaving or take them with me for the D4??

As an aside, I have some D3 floormats up on ebay tonight - pick-up only from Brisbane. I have put a link in the market place forum on here.

    Many thanks in advance.

I have two $2 cup holders that I bought from the Reject Shop that fit on the outer air vents. These clip on without modification and hold a tall cuppacino from Maccas no problems - this leaves RRS cup holders (with their removable insets) to hold the cold drinks.

Shame on you Gary, shame on you ... reject shop cup holders in a RRS - if you were seen in Darling Harbour or Toorak with such "things" in your RRS you'd probably be dragged from your vehicle and beaten senseless with Gucci handbags...

    Pffftttt

But FifiLámour is correct - the standard cup holders are a bit big for a nice Latte, even with the inserts in place and the cupholder matches the dash trim . Very stylish.

FiFi i think the cupholders you got, are the inserts that come standard in the D4 front row. The third row doesn't have the inserts.

In my car a 600ml water bottle is a tight fit in the front consol cup holders, there is also a cup holder of sorts in the door pocket, that one is large and square..

    LOL at Garry.

Thanks everyone. From the sounds of what KenL was saying, there is no need for additional LR cupholder inserts in the D4.

    Appreciate the heads' up!

Oh - I also have a smaller matching one that goes on the centre vents that hold my mobile phone - again - very stylish . It was two bucks as well .

You realise this thread will just reinforce the prejudices of the Defender and Series owners...

I think your all missing the point. The holders are the perfect size to fit in a nice cold stubbieor a can of Jim Bean.

They can take the boy out of Bayswater but never the Bayswater out of the boy.
