    Swivel Pins

A couple of years ago I replaced the swivel hubs on the wifes 90 with the Teflon type. Was checking last weekend to try and see why they are leaking and I found the swivel pins have no shims in them. So I ordered a new swivel kit minus the ball (still OK). However, the kit did not come with new pins. Will it be ok to use the old ones or, are they the part that wears most? I have new top and bottom bearings and new shims. Just wondering if I need to get new swivel pins as well?

    Thanks

Depends on their condition - any wear should be apparent; replace if wear could be measured with a micrometer (you don't need one - if there is a step you can feel, discard. If it is the latest type with roller bearings top and bottom, there should be no wear on the pins (unless it has been low on oil). If it is the older type with a railko bush at the top, the pin will wear, but, again subject to never running dry, the wear should be almost nil.

Thanks for that. From what I can see and feel there is no wear on the existing ones and they do have the roller bearing top and bottom. I'll fit the new bearings and the existing pins and see how we go.

    Thanks
