    SD Card speed

I've installed a dash camera that records at 1280x960 @ 30 frames per second to AVI format.
Unfortunately the standard card - out of the previous camera which recorded OK at 640x480 can't hack the pace with the new camera.
I've researched for far too long on Google & the best I can find is that the "standard" transfer rate is 2( probably the card I have) & a similar camera- but bigger image sensor requires a 6 rating.
Mine is a 1.3mp camera & can support 32mb card memory.
I know that I can just go & buy an 8 rated one but am I paying too much? ( I want to get 2 & rotate them).
    Thanks,
    David

Dont know if it helps but Woolies sell a 4gig class 6 card for less than $10.

I was using them for a while until I could justify bigger, better and faster.

    Cheers

if your budget can stretch to a Class 10 you'll have no problems at that resolution. 8 would be fine but for the extra $ the 10 will be better as you could always put it into another compatible digital camera and enjoy the benefits of the higher speed there too.
